UI/UX Microsite Designer, Officer

OVERVIEW:

KPMG Jamaica has a delivery center named “Jamaica Extended Support Services (JESS)” operating from Kingston, which is contracted to provide back office support to its member firm KPMG United States (“the Client”).  The Client’s Market Development function is expanding operations at JESS to support the Proposal Management process area.  Team members within the delivery center work with Client’s stakeholders under a team extension model to support Client’s back office operations.

The Clients’ Proposal Management process area performs tasks related to writing, researching, and editing a range of client-facing deliverables including proposals, client questionnaires and orals presentation documents to support winning new business.

JOB SUMMARY:

The JESS UI/UX Microsite Designer, Officer is responsible for working closely with the Client’s Proposal Managers to create and update microsites based on operating procedures within the Clients’ Proposals process area.  The Officer also supports the Client’s stakeholder to execute multiple deliverables, such as updating microsite pages, and building out new pages as required.  This position applies knowledge, independent judgment ancreativity to complete moderate to complex UI/UX design projects.  

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include:

  • Understand the proposal/presentation objectives for integrating in a website to provide an interactive and dynamic user experience
  • Create a consistent web layout, theme and style for websites
  • Core knowledge of User experience (UX), web usability, JavaScript and HTML/CSS to ensure design principles are maintained throughout e.g. font hierarchies, layouts
  • Strong knowledge of digital design, with good layout and typography skills
  • Solid understanding of user experience methodologies and principles
  • Translate business content into different media (video, graphics, animations, interactions etc.)
  • Support pursuit teams with ideas and implementation on content visualization
  • Source information from relevant internal sources, core team, portals, etc. collating and analyzing information logically and producing high quality outputs by deploying standard web page templates in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with the business owner(s) to ensure microsite templates are fit for purpose, robust, and easy to use
  • Ability to think out-of-the-box and ideate, conceptualize, and materialize ideas that simplify complex topics.
  • Ability to provide quality control oversight of the sites created from the templates through collaboration with the site creation team across all major browsers and device types to ensure they render correctly, and adjust as necessary
  • Pro-actively liaise with onshore stakeholders to receive timely feedback that can be leveraged to enhance the proposal / presentation development process

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and COMPETENCIES: 

Education/Experience 

  • Credible record of operating as an independent contributor and ability to collaborate with other team as required during larger projects
  • 1-2 years of prior experience in UI/UX Design projects
  • Bachelors Engineering / Technology / Design 
  • Inquisitive of global design trends
  • Goal driven – should be focused on helping clients meet their requirements – by developing solutions when client requirement remains unclear / changes.

Technical

Basic knowledge of User experience (UX), web usability, JavaScript or HTML/

  • Experience in Front end visual design
  • Familiar with industry-standard software for Web Designing and Wireframing skills
  • Solid understanding of user experience methodologies and principles
  • Passion for problem-solving through user-centric design
  • An understanding and importance of good, clean and unique visual design
  • Prior knowledge or experience using any creative tools will be an added advantage
  • Knowledge in using web analytics tools like Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics etc
